How to flash?
Requirements
- A Windows PC (32 or 64-bit)
- USB cable for your device
- SP Flash Tool (download and extract)
- Stock ROM (firmware) for your device (ensure it includes the scatter file)
- MediaTek USB VCOM drivers installed on your PC
Step 1: Install MediaTek USB VCOM Drivers
- Download the MediaTek USB VCOM drivers.
- If you encounter issues during installation, disable driver signature enforcement:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery.
- Click Restart Now under Advanced Startup.
- Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
- Press F7 to disable signature verification.
Step 2: Prepare the Firmware
- Download the stock firmware for your device and extract it on your computer.
- Locate the scatter file within the extracted firmware folder.
Step 3: Launch the SP Flash Tool
- Open the extracted SP Flash Tool folder and run
flash_tool.exe
it as an administrator.
Step 4: Load the Scatter File
- In the SP Flash Tool, click on the Scatter-loading button.
- Navigate to the folder containing your firmware and select the scatter file.
- Ensure that the Preloader option is unticked to avoid bricking your device.
Step 5: Select Flashing Options
- If you want to flash only specific partitions, select them accordingly in the tool.
- For a full flash, ensure all relevant boxes are checked except for Preloader.
Step 6: Connect Your Device
- Power off your MediaTek device completely.
- Connect it to your PC via a USB cable while holding either the Volume Up or Volume Down button. This puts your device in BROM mode, allowing it to be detected by the tool.
Step 7: Start the Flashing Process
- Click on the Download button in the SP Flash Tool to begin flashing.
- Wait for the process to complete. A green ring will appear once flashing is successful.
Step 8: Final Steps
- Once completed, disconnect your device from the PC.
- Close the SP Flash Tool and reboot your device.
